I suggest you ...

please don't mess up plain text editing with additional rich-text features

Adding new rtf features is all very well, but if you do please don't forget about people using ietheredit to collab on latex or code documents. Perhaps a plain text mode which turns off all formatting features?

I would like to support the feature to toggle between a plain text mode, and a rich text mode. Appropriate buttons appearing in each mode.

If I may guess what zarelsl means when referring to text size, it is that there should be no size adjustment in a plain text mode. In other words text would not be formatted in selections, and size would be uniform throughout the whole document altogether.

I hope I understood, and did not misrepresent.

Bold, italic, strikethrough, font, colors, bulleted lists.

There should be a "plain text" mode that disables all these features (and hides the buttons) (and forces the "Monospaced" font mode). In addition, text size should only be global, not local.

Can you add more clarity on this please. I was just going to add font-size features. Which existing rtf features are you talking about?
